I letter, draw and paint all cards by hand. Occasionally I use different materials for the design--including fabric, pressed flowers, typeface or found images. After creating the original artwork, I reproduce the image using a variety of printing methods to suit the individual project.
I offer custom designed art, graphics, images and messages created thoughtfully by hand. This includes illustrations and calligraphy for letterhead, greeting cards, art work, thank you notes, announcements, invitations, events, and any other personalized message you would like to express. I also enjoy doing event calligraphy, such as addressing envelopes and lettering place cards.
My process is client-driven from the start, and normally falls into one of two categories:
- A person, group or business comes to me with an idea and vision that they would like to see brought into life. I work to translate their vision using the media of their choice, and the process continues until they are completely satisfied with my replication.
- A client comes to me with a big idea but they need me to dig deeper to help give form to their thoughts, then breathe life into the form. While creating the design, I also guide my client as they choose the right media and format.
While the majority of my clients are interested in a completely customized experience and final piece, you can also choose from an array of existing designs, hand-lettering and typeface.
custom design
1. consultation
For a custom order, the first step is a complimentary consultation either by email, phone or in person. In our first conversation, you can share the details of your event, style, and visions. You are welcome to send ideas, images, and colors that inspire you. I will then estimate the cost and schedule a timeline for the completion of your project.
2. design
A 50% deposit is required before the design phase begins. I will send you a form to gather all pertinent information for our collaborative endeavor. I will create and email the first draft of your design to you for your review and feedback. According to your comments, I will revise the design into a second, final version for your approval. Any changes beyond the second draft are subject to additional fees, so please take the time to proofread carefully and note any changes clearly on the first draft.
3. printing & production
Before we begin the printing and production phase, I will need your signature and approval on the final proof. Printing and production may take anywhere from 1 to 5 weeks depending on the complexity of your project such as the type of printing, materials involved, and construction. The remaining balance is due before the designs are sent to press.
portfolio design
1. select a design
You may choose an existing design from the portfolio of cards. We will use the design of the card you choose, and I will hand-letter the text that you provide for me. You can choose a different lettering style as well as a different ink color. Typeface is available free of charge.
2. place your order
You may download this form (pdf) and email it to me. I will reply by the next day with an estimate and a shipping date.
3. printing & production

We can begin the design process for any project well in advance. For instance, birth announcements can be designed ahead of time, and when the little bundle arrives, I can pen all of the details within one week.
We will choose the best printing method for your project based on your card’s design, the style you wish to express, as well as your budget. While most portfolio pieces have been printed digitally, there are other printing options from which to choose. If you are ordering a card from the portfolio, it will be printed digitally unless you request otherwise. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
digital printing is well-suited for full-color cards. The digital prints are printed on heavyweight cardstock, and appear as stunning reproductions of the original artwork.
letterpress is best suited for a simpler design with select ink colors. Fine 100% cotton rag is used. This printing option extends the handmade process through to the very finished product.
offset printing is the best option for business cards, letterhead, and other materials that are produced en masse.
The final pricing of your project is based on the design concept, the complexity of the project, the method of printing and the quantity of printed items. There are no set ordering increments after an initial minimum of 25, so you may order the exact quantity that you need.

The prices below include the design from the portfolio, custom lettering and the finished printed product. All cards are one-sided, full-color and come with blank envelopes. Envelopes with a return address are available for an extra charge. Please inquire regarding unique sizes and specific quantities. After a minimum of 25, you can order any number of cards that you wish.
