What does Bylanz actually do?

You upload financial documents — bank statements, spreadsheets, PDFs, or photos of paper statements — or link a bank account via Plaid. Bylanz uses AI to extract the data and produce a standardized balance sheet, income statement, or cash flow statement, complete with computed totals, financial ratios, and a debt schedule. You can see a sample statement without creating an account.

How accurate is the AI output?

Bylanz is a document-processing tool, not an accountant or auditor. The AI can occasionally misread a document or miscategorize a line item, so always review the generated statement before relying on it — especially before sending it to a lender, investor, or tax authority. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free includes a limited number of AI-generated statements per month, unlimited document uploads, and one linked bank account per company. Pro removes the statement limit, allows unlimited linked accounts, and adds features like collaborator invites, monthly auto-generation from linked accounts, covenant/ratio alerts, and branded PDF exports. See the pricing section on the homepage for current details.

How does the free trial work?

New subscribers can start a 30-day free trial of Bylanz Pro. A card is required to start the trial, but you won't be charged until it ends, and you can cancel anytime before then from the billing page. Each email address can use the trial once.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes — cancel from the billing page whenever you like. Your subscription stays active through the end of the period you've already paid for. Fees already paid are non-refundable, except where required by law.

Is it safe to link my bank account?

Bank connections are handled by Plaid, the same aggregator used by many banking and finance apps — Bylanz never sees or stores your online banking credentials. The access token Plaid issues is encrypted before it's stored, and you can unlink an account at any time.

What file types can I upload?

PDFs, spreadsheets (CSV/XLSX), images of paper statements, and most common bank or account statement formats. If a document doesn't extract cleanly, you can still edit the generated statement's real estate values, and future versions can incorporate corrections from newly uploaded documents.

Can I export my statements?

Every statement can be exported as PDF, XLSX, or CSV from its page. Pro accounts can also add a company logo to PDF exports.

Can I work with an accountant or bookkeeper?

Yes — Pro accounts can invite collaborators by email to a company. Collaborators can upload documents, link accounts, and generate statements, but can't manage billing or invite others.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes, anytime — from the Danger zone section at the bottom of the billing page. This cancels any active subscription, and permanently deletes your account, every company you own, and all associated documents and statements. This cannot be undone.

Does Bylanz support multiple currencies?

Each company has a default display currency. If a source document reports amounts in a different currency, Bylanz converts them using historical exchange rates and notes the conversion on the statement.
